it was hard for delilah to separate herself from the dream world, and reality. things with damian, in this instance were definitely that of the dream world. he wasn't the one who was kissing her, she was the one kissing him and he wasn't really feeling it like she was. he was drunk off of his head, and she was as sober as they came. this moment she was able to spend with him, entwined in his hold as their lips pressed together tenderly, this was all just a dream really. by morning, it would have left his mind, he would have thought it only a dream and she was sure he'd have excused it as that and not even bothered to think of it again. while she would hold those thoughts in her mind, simply because she knew there was more to what happened between them than just a kiss. she wished there was more anyway, she wanted the relationship with him that she couldn't have, even though there was that obvious thrill that entered her body at the moment they touched lips. maybe it was just late, maybe she was tired and should have just sent herself to bed, and maybe that would have eliminated these strange thoughts from her mind. all she could think about, or even consider was what they could have if they just gave each other a chance. but damian was a stubborn fool, and he wasn't about to look at her as though there was even a possibility of something more than just this. what was this even? a few shared kisses in the dark of the night, in the shade of the castle, and hidden away from the rest of the world. it felt like a fantasy, felt like it was nothing more than a girls whimsical desires coming to life in her mind only.
it really did bug her how he talked to her at times like this, acting as though they had a good relationship, and as though they were old friends. when they both knew deep down, the relationship they'd shared was nothing like that, it wasn't perfect, it wasn't pleasant, and they'd shared their problems throughout the years. she wished he could just suck up his pride for a moment and look at her in a different light. the way he looked at her tonight, despite the alcohol in his system, it was different to normal. he looked at her as though she was beautiful, he complimented her and told her things that she'd never thought would leave his lips. it had made her feel like a completely different person, she felt stronger in a way, more self aware, and more able to follow through with her thoughts. her drive to kiss him had led her to doing exactly that, and she did not regret it in the slightest. in fact, she wished she could have just kept it going, and wished she could have repeated that kiss for the rest of her life. damian was not the type to allow something like that to happen between them, as hard as it was for he to admit it to herself. despite everything that had happened tonight, she knew it was all going to be over as soon as she said goodbye, which perhaps was why she was so reluctant to leave him as they neared his dorm. she could feel her chest tightening in sadness, at the realization that everything they'd shared would soon be lost, and it did hurt her. as much as she would refuse to admit that, it hurt her terribly.
as they arrived at the common room, they were greeted by his cat, that seemed to unnerve delilah, she took a step back, letting him lean against the wall and hold himself up. her eyebrows wrinkled and drew in together, in a knitted frown as she watched him. This was a good dream but I should probably sleep and wake up she nodded slowly, drawing away from him, she backed up slowly well, yes i suppose you should. she stared at him a moment, biting down on her lip lightly sleep well then.. she murmured softly, her nerves picking up again. be careful, please? and um.. if you happen to remember any of this... don't make me out to be a fool next time i see you, please? give me a sign or something, i know you won't talk to me, but just a sign. she nodded her head one last time, watching him for a moment before she headed back down the hall she'd come down, on her way back to her own common room. in hopes of a good nights sleep, although she was sure her mind was going to fill itself with new ideas and thoughts.
