[style=width:400px; height:200px; background:url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz5co1jTFd1r5ptboo1_500.jpg);] it wasn't uncommon for students to use entire classrooms as their own private tutoring grounds. there were so many empty rooms that it was easier to use a classroom than the library, which was always packed full. so, mason had found a classroom that fit the standards. it was dusty, but that wasn't a problem. mason walked into the room, the large wooden door creaking as he did so. the room obviously hadn't been used in years, other than a possible place for hookups or such. he tried not to think of that though as he flicked his wand at the dust on one of the tables. he placed his bag down, and then began to work on the dust around the rest of the room. with a few dozen flicks of his wand at specific areas of the room, it was dust free. mason smiled, and headed over to the table in the middle of the room where he had placed his bag.
mason set his books out, along with some pieces of parchment that had notes scribbled neatly on them. he had agreed more than willingly to help tutor adelaide. he would have offered to help out in the common room or the library, but it was so hard to focus with so many people around. the gryffindor common room was always full of people goofing off between the final class of the day and supper. so there he was, cleaning out one of the old classrooms in hopes of getting at least a little work done. mason sat down in one of the two seats at the table and started freshing up on his notes, thinking of how he would go about this. he'd only tutored a few people, and although he knew exactly what he was doing in most of his classes, it was different to know something and teach it to someone else. as adele walked down the long hallway to the classroom she had been told to meet mason her thoughts started to take over. today had been a good eating day, she had actually eaten an apple at breakfast to her dismay. adele had been dragged there by her friends and she didn't want to be awkward and not eat. she ate it slowly, chatting amongst them to try and keep her mouth occupied. her final class had ended about an hour ago and supper would be ready shortly. her stomach grumbled with hunger but that was an ache she knew all too well. adele would eat tonight, she knew that her body was growing weak from not having any food all day. adele was finally at the classroom, she tried to open the door but it was locked. she took out her wand and flicked it, it opened instantly. she smiled to herself and turned the knob. she saw the familiar blonde tuff of hair that had to be mason's. she walked over to the table where he sat and set down her books. "hello, i'm adelaide but call me adele. you must be mason, my tutor." she smiled and pulled the chair out and sat down, "thank you so much for helping me, it means a lot." she said quietly.

[style=width:400px; height:200px; background:url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz5co1jTFd1r5ptboo1_500.jpg);] helping people had always been one of mason's strong suits. he loved to make sure people were comfortable and understoood things, and he loved to see a smile on everyone's face. there was very few people that he disliked, and even then he wouldn't wish for them to be unhappy with life. in his eyes, nobody deserved anything less than perfect. sometimes life threw curveballs, though, and he understood that. however, it was mason's life goal to help people go where they wanted to in life. that's exactly why he wanted to continue his education after hogwarts and become a teacher at none other than hogwarts. it would take years, and he would have to work extremely hard for it, but he was completely fine with that as long as he could join the staff at hogwarts and help people discover just what they wanted to do with his life like he had from tutoring.
when he had been asked to tutor, at first he had been on the fence about whether he would like it or not. but now he knew it was his calling. it was always hard to tutor someone when you didn't know just what they got and what they didn't, but that's what mason was there for. to help them figure out what they didn't. which is why he let them ask any questions they had right off the bat, and went from there. mason looked up when he heard the door open, and stood up politely. "nice to meet you, adele." he smiled and sat back down, shaking his head lightly. "oh it's no problem, really. i love to help." mase looked down at the open books. "so it's herbology you need help with, right? is there anything in particular that you need help understanding?" he ran a hand through his slightly messy blonde hair and smiled. he looked her over a bit, and she looked quite thin. then again, there were a lot of girls at hogwarts that were unnaturally thin. so, mason didn't say a word on the subject, focusing back on the books. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]cos baby you're a firework if there was one thing that adele felt at hogwarts it was comfortable. at home, she was judged and ridiculed about her mental issues. everyone at hogwarts never questioned her thin frame, there were many girls who were naturally thin and nobody said anything. people were accepting and they accepted adele for who she was. people like mason made hogwarts a good place, unlike some slytherin's who thought they were the best and muggle borns like adele were a toxic disease. she was glad to have classmates like mason to help her, not many people would volunteer their free time to help some failing student. adele didn't even know about the tutoring program at the school, whoever thought of it was her new hero. she wasn't the best student but she tried really hard to be a good gryffindor, always following what her heart said was her motto. if adele didn't put heart into everything she did, she wouldn't be the same person she was today.
adele scanned over the classroom quickly, not a speck of dust laid on the tables which was quite a surprise. most classrooms were littered with dust even if students used them everyday. someone must have cleaned the room prior to her entering. she was glad, she didn't want her black robes covered in dust bunnies today. mason stood up when she entered the room, his manners were in check it seemed. after returning a simple greeting adele sat down and he did the same. adele smiled warmly and opened her herbology book to page 221, she needed help with memorizing the different cures each plant possessed. "yeah herbology and me don't get along really well. it's my favourite class though." she sighed and looked glumly at the book. adele knew she had to explain her current topic to mason in order for him to help. "well, we're studying the effect different plants have as cures. we have a test coming up this week and if i fail it... i pretty much will be failing the class. our professor said she'll place some plants that are poisonous on our test and i have difficulty identifying which ones are okay to use on human skin and which ones will burn it.." she smiled weakly, her head was spinning with dizziness. she hadn't eaten much all day and it was hard for her to concentrate, this spelled disaster.

[style=width:400px; height:200px; background:url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz5co1jTFd1r5ptboo1_500.jpg);] mason didn't have some tragic background, other than the fact that he and his parents weren't particularly close. he was one of the lucky ones, it seemed. most of the people at hogwarts had something wrong with them, but mason was just the lucky kid, it seemed. he knew what he wanted to do with his life, he knew who he cared about, and he knew what made him happy and what did the opposite. he had had his fair share of struggles and people teasing him, but mason was just a generally positive person. he didn't see any reason as to why he should let the past effect who he was now. if he didn't want to feel upset, he just didn't. sure, that wasn't always possible, but he did all he could to keep his life and those around him a positive energy. if you didn't at least try, how could you expect anything? that's the way that mason saw life.
mason nodded lightly, laughing a bit. "yeah, i know how that goes. fourth year, i had the hardest time memorizing certain potions and what they did, but i loved it all the same." mason nodded lightly, lookg at the text. he remembered that test thoroughly, mostly because he had struggled with it sixth year, as well. "what i did was create a little way to memorize the different plants. you see, the poisonous plants tend to try to trick the human eye, but there's always a little something about them that makes them identifiable." mason continued to explain a little more, before pausing and looking up at adele. she looked positively pale, as if she were about to pass out. "are you alright?" he pushed the book away a little and turned in his chair to rest the back of his hand against her forehead. "you don't feel warm... did you miss breakfast? i know i get like this sometimes when i miss breakfast. here, let's get you some food, we can pick up studying after, yeah? if your stomach's empty, there's no way to focus on learning." mason smiled, but concern was written all over his face. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]cos baby you're a firework as usual, adele was thinking of the worst case scenario's in her head. her mind raced with her tainted thoughts, she always put herself in a sour mood. she was thinking about what if she failed out of herbology, her test mark was so bad that she would automatically fail out of the course. mason was really smart whereas adele had troubles learning new techniques of memorizing things. what if he couldn't teach her? what if he got so frustrated that he decided to quit? adele's mind spun with all the thoughts that whirled around furiously. she was having troubles concentrating on the task at hand which was focusing on the page of different types of leaves.
adele returned a soft smile towards mason, careful not to make too long of eye contact. "potions is actually my forte, i'm really good at it." she shrugged, she wished she was as good at herbology as she was at potions. it was one of her favourite classes and the good thing was she excelled in it. as mason explained a method to her she started getting woozy. his words slowly making sense to her, "o-oh, that makes sense i guess." she said weakly. as mason glanced up at her, she went pale and flushed.. she hoped he wouldn't judge her at all. "yeah, i'm fine." she answered her voice coming out in a bit of a squeak. adele was a horrid liar and tried her best to come up with stuff to brush off her health. as he turned his chair to face her, he rested the back of his palm on her forehead. "no, i would never skip breakfast! that's silly... i mean i'm not hungry." she said her voice getting higher as the sentence went on, it was so obvious that she was a horrible liar. maybe mason would believe her though, "anyways, what were you saying about these plants?" she said bringing the book closer, her mind still dizzying.

[style=width:400px; height:200px; background:url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lz5co1jTFd1r5ptboo1_500.jpg);] mason was used to being a good mood, no matter the atmosphere. he was rarely ever angry, or even sad usually. he tended to look for the brighter side to everything, because he'd come to realize that the worse of a mood he was in, the worse his day would go, and the crankier anyone else he talked to would end up. that's why he ran every morning. it freed him and prepped him for the upcoming day, ready to take on anything. because if he could handle running a lap around the black lake, there was no doubt he could handle a day of classes and tutoring. he really just loved to see other people smile, and he knew that if he wasn't happy, he couldn't make anyone else happy.
he smiled, nodding. "i don't really have any problems with it this year. i think that the teacher last year just shoved us all into overdrive or something," he said with a soft chuckle. most things just came easily for mason. talking to people to make them comfortable was one of them. if someone was uncomfortable about being tutored in the first place, there would be no learning getting done because they would be either eager to get out of there, or worried the entire time that their friends were going to find out. the concern on mason's face deepened as she spoke, her words getting higher with each word. he furrowed his eyebrows together. "i have a protein bar in my bag. i can't make you eat it, but i can promise that if you really want to pass, you'll need it." mason grabbed his bag and pulled the bar out, placing it on the table in front of adelaide. "now where were we." he barely knew this girl, so he couldn't actually have any say in if she ate or not. but he wasn't going to have her passing out on his watch, when he could help. [/style]

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: f9f9f9; border: #d96a70 solid 10px; width: 420px; padding: 15 5 15 5px;]cos baby you're a firework adele was a shy person, she didn't like starting conversations with people unless she had too. it was difficult for her not to be awkward during most social situations, maybe it was the lack of self-confidence that didn't help. she avoided most confrontations so she didn't have to do anything that put her under pressure. she hated trying new things, it just meant change and change to her was horrible. change was often looked on as a good thing, it meant new discoveries and new people. change to adele meant the opposite. it meant losing what was familiar for something foreign, it mean people changing their attitudes and outlooks on life. she lost a lot of friends because of change and she's learned to just accept it and move on. there was no point waiting for them, they were gone and there was nothing she could do about it. adele learned to look for loyal and kind friends who looked only on the bright side and helped her stay upbeat.
"yeah you're really smart." adele complimented, "i mean i've heard you're one of the best tutors at hogwarts." she corrected herself, she was glad she had the best of the best. of course he had no problems with potions now, mason seemed like an all around good guy that strived to do well in school. no wonder he was sorted into gryffindor, he had the heart of pure gold. just talking to him for a few minutes and hearing stuff about him in the common room she knew it. his friends were really lucky to have him. she watched as he furrowed his eyebrows together and offer her some food. adele's body craved food but her mind screamed no. "thanks mason, that's really nice of you." she said her voice now level. he pulled out the bar from his bag and placed it on the table. "i think you were saying how poison plants had a weird attribute about them that made them identifiable?" adele reminded him pushing the book closer to the both of them, she scanned the pages of the book. the page had different leaves pictured and each had a different label but no description if they were poison or not. "i don't think i'll ever get this." she said resting her forehead in her palm.
