he was (mostly) raised by his muggle grandparents in surrey, for the fact that his mother had been a teenager at the time of his birth, and his father (a pureblood, presumably) had fled when he’d learned that he’d knocked up a muggle. fortunately though, walter knew for all his life that he was a wizard even though he was brought up in a muggle household, because well, that's just the sort of thing wizards tell your mom when she brings you in to a muggle hospital for an examination because of your rapidly changing hair colour and nose shape.
wally is a bit of a kook, and probably about as pretentious as they come. walter doesn’t always tend to acknowledge boundaries, nor does he give himself lines which ought not to be crossed. he talks a lot, and is rather outspoken. he’s pretty self-assured, self-confident, and selfish, and is often a gigantic smartass about life in general. this isn’t to say that he’s prone to spewing bullshit as fact, he’s definitely more than bright enough to be in his house (arguably, too bright) but it’s also not above him in the least to show off his smartness in order to put others down, or rather, to showcase himself as (obviously) superior. this goes for his use of his metamorphmagi ability as well. he’s corky and quirky and fascinated by history, but that doesn’t mean he’s particularly nice and friendly either. he’s more or less a lone body anyway, often by choicethough sometimes not because even wally gets lonely sometimes. walter is a bit of a drifter, and he doesn’t tend to stick to one ~clique~ persay, because he often times doesn’t think he belongs anywhere – i can sort of see him in a group with a bunch of outcasts from all four houses being his main group of friends though. enemies would probably be a fair number because in most cases, walter rubs people the wrong way. as far as love goes, he’s a bit of a cynic… basically, he won’t go searching for love, and he definitely tends to shut that door before it’s even begun to creak most of the time, though i mean, if someone can stubbornly claw at him long enough, he might respond… idk. talk to me.
