[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-image:url(''), border: solid #886068 5px; width: 450px; height: 500px;] out of the pleasurable experiences and terrible experiences with the library, aphrodite decided to make another trip in the room full of books. some would question why she wasn't put in ravenclaw, but the sorting hat must have settled on hufflepuff for a reason. the sorting hat worked in very mysterious ways. aphrodite always wondered how a hat could make the decision on which house someone belonged to. in fact, she found the hat to be rather judgemental. what was the hat's right to decide where a person belonged? aphrodite believed in equality and harmony, something that this school didn't believe in. as much as the headmaster tried to encourage peace between the houses, it didn't help that there were competitions tearing the school apart. with each house trying to raise the most house points by the end of the year, it caused a bit of tension with everyone. not only that, but it seemed that some of the students around the castle were trying to make life difficult for others here.
as much as aphrodite would like to stand up and make a difference within the castle, there was no point in trying. so, she believed in doing the smaller things to help keep positivity. with the history that follows the hogwarts castle, aphrodite didn't want to see it ever repeating. with her love in history, aphrodite always knew it existed to show those in the future what didn't work before in the past. sometimes she felt that she was quite deep in thought and didn't know how to bring her mind back to reality. while sitting down at an empty mahogany table, books were scattered everywhere as well as a pad of parchment, bottle of jet black ink, and an eagle's feather in her grasp as she worked furiously on an assignment for potions. she loved potions just as much as she loved history. aphrodite wanted to finish this assignment so that she could enjoy the outdoors before the weather got worse for the winter.

YOU’RE A GOLDMINE BREAKING THROUGH THE CLOUDS LIKE SUNSHINE AND I'M BETTING ON YOU AND I the only reason carter bryant was ever found in the library was if he was peaking around in the restricted section with lou or if he was trying to find a girl to flirt with out of pure boredom. he never really put much effort into school work, even though he always knew exactly what he was doing. instead of giving professors or the headmaster a reason to push him to go far in life, he kept his grades at average and focused on dating around and his plans to explore the world. carter rubbed at his cheek as he walked through the aisles of bookshelfs, checking out each study table. he had gotten slapped not too long ago, and his cheek was still hurting. he was sure he would have a hand print for the rest of the night, but it was nothing that carter bryant wasn't used to. he got slapped on a bi-weekly basis, or at least once a month, so he was used to the stinging sensation by now. some girls just couldn't handle the breakup, or the inevitable truth that he was going to have a new girlfriend within a day or two.
spotting a face of a girl he knew to be in his year, carter made his way up and down the aisles to see if he could recognize anyone else worth acknowledging. spotting at least one girl at each table he wanted to stop by that he had flirted with or even dated in the past, carter opted for the table with a lone girl who he knew to be in his year. she was a hufflepuff, he believed, and had a brother. for the life of him, he couldn't remember her name, though. it was something ancient, that's all he could remember. i think it starts with an a. shit, carter, remember before you get to the ta - aphrodite! that's it! he smiled internally at his win and sat down slyly across from her at the table. "i heard that if you work too hard, you'll actually remember less." he wasn't sure if it was true or not, and he'd never actually heard anyone say it, but carter was just looking for something to break the ice and start a conversation. he smirked lightly and leaned back a bit in his wooden chair, fingers locked behind his neck.
