[style=width:400px; height: 200px; background:url(http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8kb1vwRBN1r7jgvpo1_500.jpg);] most people found work to be boring, but imogen maeve was not one of those people. she got to work in a place where there was always something interesting, and she was surrounded by candy. nobody, no matter how much you tried to, could deny honeyduke's selection of candies. ginny made sure there was no customers before stuffing a chocolate frog into her mouth. she leaned against the counter, tapping her fingers on the glass. imogen had mostly been given the job since she had shopped there every weekend the entire time she had been at hogwarts. even now that she was working there, she was one of the shop's biggest customers. though she could admit to sneaking quite a few sweets on slow days.
she watched as apollo stocked the shelves, admiring how he always did so much more than her. in her defense, someone had to watch the register, and imogen really didn't have all that much upper body strength to be lifting the heavy boxes. candies were surprisingly heavy when in large quantities. ginny leaned forward a bit and snuck a peak at apollo, checking him out a bit. shaking her head with a soft smile, she took a breath. "hey, what'dya say i take you out for some drinks tonight, pol?" her canadian accent made her stick out like a sore thumb around hogsmeade, and even when she was in hogwarts two years ago. it had never bothered her, though. she liked being different. [atrb=border,0,true][style=background-image:url(http://i47.tinypic.com/2lx85mh.png); width: 300px; height: 200px; margin-right:8px;] Weekends always managed to kill their supply of candy. And though the backroom was constantly full, it always seemed like the shelves were empty. Near the end of the day that was all that he managed to have time to do, restock shelves. It was nice when he was working with Imogen though because it meant that he could focus entirely on getting it done and she could watch the front counter in case someone came in. It also meant that he had company while he was in the store and having her around always made him feel better about eating the candy that they were supposed to be selling for some reason.
Apollo set the two boxes down that he had carried from the back room and walked up to the counter. He grabbed a couple pepper imps from the bag he kept behind there, nudging Imogen in the process before returning to the boxes full of candy. He popped the imps in his mouth and smiled as the smoke billowed from his ears and nose. He sucked a bit of it in and blew it back out in smoke rings, a trick that had taken him two years to perfect with the candy because you had to do it just right or the smoke ended up weak and the rings didn’t quite turn out.
“I’d say you’re trying to get me drunk far too often.” Apollo cast a quick glance over his shoulder though he smiled as he said it. She was one of the few people he could honestly be comfortable with anymore and at all times. He chuckled and pulled a few bags of candy from the boxes, organizing them on the shelves so the displays would look in order once more. “But a drink would be nice as long as some guy doesn’t try to beat me up because he thinks I’m trying to date you. None of that.” He gave another little laugh. He’d gotten a few glares since they started going to grab drinks together from guys and it bothered him, mostly because he couldn’t imagine ever having interest in being with someone ever again. [style=width:400px; height: 200px; background:url(http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8kb1vwRBN1r7jgvpo1_500.jpg);] imogen had always had a confidence about her that seemed to get her quite a few stares whenever she went out for drinks, or even when she just went out shopping. she held herself high, and she never failed to come up with something witty to say. she'd fit in quite well in the gryffindor house in hogwarts, though she had never been one to have a ton of really close friends. she was comfortable around most people, but it took a special quality to make ginny truly open up and accept someone into her life as more than just someone who she had simple conversations with. apollo just so happened to hold said quality, and it probably helped that she was a tad biased since she'd had a huge crush on him through most of their years at hogwarts. they had dated, though only briefly, but ginny wasn't one to hold grudges about those things. she still thought he was absolutely adorable, and he intrigued her.
when apollo looked back with a smile, imogen winked at him before putting on a faux disappointed look and voice. "oh darn, you've figured out my secret plan to get you drunk and kidnap you! now i have to figure out a new plan!" ginny laughed, opening another chocolate frog and placing it on the counter to hop around a bit. she was always amused by the lively candy when you waited too long to put it in your mouth. "s'okay, i don't plan on picking anyone up tonight. i'd rather spend time with you, anyhow. but i won't turn down free drinks from people who think they have a chance." imogen laughed again. she hadn't actually been in a relationship since she'd left hogwarts, though she did tend to get hit on at the bar quite often. but hey, she got free drinks out of it usually and never left apollo's side all the while. [atrb=border,0,true][style=background-image:url(http://i47.tinypic.com/2lx85mh.png); width: 300px; height: 200px; margin-right:8px;] Apollo chuckled as she winked at him. It wasn’t often that he spent time with females but Imogen was the definite exception. He spent as much time with her as he possibly could. They used to date and since then, they’d been close even though back then his ego had gotten in the way of them staying together. Despite everything he had done that could have completely destroyed any friendship between them, she stuck around. She was also one of the few who knew about Mel and just how horribly the whole ordeal had affected him. He was starting to get his humor back but it was a slow process and he didn’t make nearly half the jokes that he had in the past. Yet she stuck around and made it easier for him to laugh about things again. She was pretty much Merlin sent in his eyes because she was one of the few people who held him together still.
He scrunched up his nose at her and picked up an exploding bonbon. He tossed the package at her with a grin, knowing that even if it did hit her it wasn’t going to do a whole lot of damage. The things were basically huge cream puffs. “Like you could really kidnap me. I’m too manly to be kidnapped.” Apollo puffed out his chest for a moment in one of his few attempts to get a real laugh out of her before he smiled and went back to stocking the candy that was in front of him. He was glad that she didn’t mind hanging out with him still, more than he would ever let on actually. She was doing him a great favor by sticking around. “I really think that’s the only reason that girls go to grab drinks these days….charm their way into some poor bloke buying them drink after drink to no avail. Such a shame.” He shook his head like he was really offended but the smile that was still on his lips said differently. “I will not get in the way of your free drinks though.” [/style] |

[style=width:400px; height: 200px; background:url(http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8kb1vwRBN1r7jgvpo1_500.jpg);] imogen liked challenges, and that was probably why she never let apollo make her disappear from his life when they had broken up. and now that they worked together, she was more than happy that she hadn't. honeydukes would be an awkward place if she had let him push her from his life. ginny had never been one of those girls, though. she had a fire in her that told her apollo was worth keeping around, and she was right about that. she always had a smile on her face when he was around. not that she had ever admitted to it, but every week when scheduling for the following week of work, she requested to work when apollo was as often as possible. she'd worked quite a few double shifts just so she could hang out with him when business was slow. one of her eyebrows raised at the manly comment, causing her to laugh a little louder than she anticipated. "never underestimate me, apollo bryant. if you're drunk enough, kidnapping you really couldn't be that hard, now could it? i'm sure you'd come willingly, anyway. i mean, c'mon. i'm some pretty amazing company, don't deny it."
imogen never brought it up, but she knew how badly he was hurting after everything had happened. that's another one of the reasons she stuck around, and kept him close. she couldn't risk letting him go completely batshit crazy on her watch. she'd lost her grandmother when she was ten, and the woman had been the closest person to imogen at the time. she kept a picture of her grandmother hanging on her mirror at home, for whenever she got lonely. "oh, you've figured us out. now we'll have to figure out a whole new secret! darn you, apollo. you're just too smart for us girls." though, imogen was anything but just another one of the girls at the bar. for one, she didn't go to pick up guys. she usually went with someone just so she didn't have to deal with that. "don't worry, i'll share. but just because you're so amazing for keeping the shelves so pretty." she grinned sweetly at him, but there was something about the smile that said she was mocking him slightly. in a friendly way, of course. [atrb=border,0,true][style=background-image:url(http://i47.tinypic.com/2lx85mh.png); width: 300px; height: 200px; margin-right:8px;] He laughed as she said not to underestimate her. He had learned that lesson a couple years ago and she was still here despite all of his attempts to get her to go away. It was a wonder she hadn’t stabbed him for some of his attempts in all honesty. So he knew to never underestimate her. Not really. “Well the last time I got really drunk I remember being pushed around by my dog who couldn’t understand why I was sobbing like a little girl in my apartment. So I’d certainly like to see your attempt.” Though he told the truth, there was still a smile on his face. Him really drunk these days was never a good thing because that was when all of that lost hope piled down upon him again and he could do nothing but curl up wherever he was and cry. And it had never really been like him to cry, but these days were a different story.
“My goal in life…to figure out all those horrible deep dark secrets of girls. That way I can start brainwashing all of you into doing my chores.” He turned, picking up the empty boxes and made a face at her before doing his best impression of a mad scientist laugh. “See…just needs a bit of work and then I’ll be completely ready to take you all down.” He grinned at her before disappearing into the back with the empty boxes. He came back out carrying two more which he set down on the counter in front of her. His eyes narrowed slightly at her grin which he knew was definitely aimed at his shelves.
“Are you saying that my shelves aren’t pretty?” He motioned to the store in generally before he popped open the two boxes. “Because if that’s the case I might just have to leave these boxes for you. Or start a tickle war which will end in your begging for mercy and still doing the rest of the shelves.” Apollo smiled warmly at her though there was a hint of a challenge to his words. She was the only person who ever got to see him play anymore. And today was quickly turning into one of those days. [/style] |

[style=width:400px; height: 200px; background:url(http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8kb1vwRBN1r7jgvpo1_500.jpg);] getting drunk wasn't imogen's style. she drank strong drinks, but she always sipped them slowly. she liked to have control over what she said, and she knew from past experiences that she tended to become quite blunt whenever she drank. a small pout fell across her lips at the internal invisionment of apollo crying. "well.. i'm sure you look super adorable when you cry like a little girl." she smiled softly. "but hey, uh, if you ever need someone when you're breaking down, i'll be there in an instant, y'know. with some of these disgusting candies and something to smile about for when you're ready to be happy. i know it's hard. s'why i'm glad i'm too stubborn to let you push me away." ginny cared a lot about apollo, and she would hate to see him waste away into a pile of depression. she didn't expect him to get over the hurt right away, like most people did.
apollo's attempt at an evil laugh made imogen's own laugh dance from her lips. whether he did it intentionally or not, he always put a smile on her face, no matter the circumstance. she raised her eyebrow at the boxes placed in front of her. "what if some customer comes in and needs to check out? your boxes are just all up on this counter space, dude." she smirked, before giving a faux shocked expression. "why would i ever insult your stocking abilities? i mean.. i'd rather have you do it than die trying to carry a ton of boxes of candy which i would rather just eat." it was true, she'd only wanted to work at honeydukes for two reasons: her intense sweet tooth, and apollo. imogen pouted. "you know, neither of those sound very appealing to me. you know how ticklish i am, that's just not fair!" [/style]
