Well, not really the beginning. She had only just gotten the idea of how to tell him her feelings during an intimate moment. The only moment she could think of right now, was to dance. That was the only reason why she had sprung to her feet and asked Dexter to dance. She wanted him to be her forever. Dexter was the only reason that Zarah continued to breathe every day. He was the only reason she looked out of the window and smiled at the sun - it was another day to be with Dexter. But she had seen him around other girls. The way he treated them was more of a boyfriend than the way he treated her, and Zarah's heart ached for it wanted to be the one Dexter's heart loved in return.
Giggling like a small child as Dex dipped her, Zarah beamed up at him and fought the urge to stretch her neck just enough in order to press her lips to his. All in due time... All in due time... You don't want to scare off the poor boy. Feeling herself standing up-right, the young woman ran a hand through her curls before placing it on Dexter's shoulder and the other grasped his hand when he brought it back after turning on the music. Soft, air-like music flowed through the room and Zarah's eyes closed for a brief second as she began to move her feet around in a small circle with Dexter. She didn't care if he stepped on her toes. It was all part of the learning curve. She was determined to teach him how to dance.
Opening her eyes, Zarah was hit with the amazing beauty that was - is - Dexter's eyes. She felt herself being drawn into him like a moth to a flame. She pressed her chest against his and could feel his heartbeat against her own. Bringing her face close to his, Zarah moved her lips until they were a centimetre away from Dexter's. Don't do this. Why would he like you any more than a friend? Horrible timing. He likes someone else, and you can't change that. You're nothing but a simple friend to him. He already has someone else in mind. A small sigh escaped Zarah's lips before she pulled away slightly and rested her head on Dexter's shoulder. "I just want you to kiss me..." She spoke, a tone not anything above a whisper. Dexter wouldn't have been able to hear her, but she just had to get those few words out. |

up with the birds ,
dex couldn't imagine his life without zarah, he couldn't even remember the times zarah wasn't in his life. those memories didn't matter though, without zarah they weren't even worth remembering. he also remembered at a small birthday party they played spin the bottle, it was many many years ago. dex's turn was up and to his happiness it landed on zarah. all their friends laughed and pushed the two together, this was the only chance he actually had of kissing zarah. all he did was kiss her cheek and she did the same in return, their friends even disappointed by the small kiss. they wanted a real kiss and so did dex but the risk of making things awkward between them wasn't worth it. he knew he would one day confess his undying love and at a birthday party just wasn't the moment he was waiting for. those romantic movies went straight to his head, he wanted fireworks in the background and romantic music playing when he confessed. zarah deserved only the best and that's what he wanted to give her.
dex laughed as zarah giggled, he loved the sound of her laughter. 'she's too perfect, how can any guy resist her?' his mind rambled on and kept pushing him towards her. no matter how much he fought back these thoughts they pushed back with even more force. he felt her hand go to his shoulder and his stomach filled with butterflies as the soft music filled the room. their fingers intertwined and they started to sway in small circles. he shuffled his feet and watched carefully so that he wouldn't step on her delicate little toes. he was only wearing socks right now which was good since they wouldn't hurt too much if he stepped on her. he imagined them together swaying to the same music fifty years from now, withered by age but their love kept them together. he saw them laughing and smiling together, kissing and being happily married. dex lost himself in these thoughts and realized that was years and years away.
as zarah opened her eyes he took in her beautiful eyes, it was so easy to get lost in them. he felt her chest against his, their heartbeats beating together perfectly. he realized his heart was beating just as fast as hers, he wasn't sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. he didn't want her to realize how unusually fast his heartbeat was. zarah moved her head so that their lips were nearly touching. his breathing stopped and all he could think about was how amazing it would be to kiss those lips for the first time. he found himself leaning closer and closer until he stopped himself and pulled away slightly. his face red from the new forming blush. he heard her mutter something but all he did was smile, trying to hide his obvious emotions. "i'll never forget the day we first met zarah." he smiled, her hair was a curly mess and her smile just as beautiful.
