Normally Rae would head straight outside after her final class, but today it was raining. Not just raining, it was completely pouring outside. If she couldn't go outside she would normally head to the library but she didn't find herself wanting to be in there today, she was in a bit of a blah sort of mood. She wasn't sure if it was because of the terrible weather or because she hadn't slept extremely well the night before. Falling asleep had been easy but she had found herself tossing and turning all night, waking up several times. Regardless of the reason, she was in the mood to lounge on the couch in front of the fire, curling up with a book in hand.
With the weather the common room wasn't exactly empty, this didn't bother her though, she quickly took over the couch and spread herself out, propping the book up so she could read while laying down. Raelin noticed people leaving, figuring it was dinner time but not exactly feeling very hungry. Instead she continued reading, it was much nicer with the common room empty anyway. Eventually she moved to lay on her side, the book resting on the couch while she held it open, her arms hurting form holding it up for too long. Without realizing it, she ended up drifting off to sleep, the book falling onto the floor as she slept curled up on her side.
It definitely hadn't been intentional, especially considering after dinner people would be filing in or later on coming up for bed. No, she would have gone up to bed where it was much more safe, where she wasn't an open target for pranks and who knows what else.

we tore up the walls, we slept on couches, we lifted this house, lifted this house,, Kieran had been running around in the rain. He loved nothing more than when it was pissing down, and before he’d realized it he’d missed dinner entirely. Everything was just more fun when the world decided to make every hill and valley into his own personal slip-n-slide, and he was currently filthy and soaking wet. His arms and legs, not lest his clothing, was covered in grass stains, and he was shivering violently despite his typical tendency to be constantly overheating.
The common room was nice and warm, and Kieran gravitated immediately over to the fire. Where Mason was was a mystery to him—probably snogging Alice, at this rate. Actually, that would be his only legitimate excuse as far as Kieran was concerned. Being “accidentally” missing in action when it started to pour? That was simply bad forum with regard to their friendship, and the only excuse Kieran would tolerate from him would be if he was busy wooing his lass. Not kissing her arse like he usually did, but actually making some progress with her. Especially after he’d caught Alice and Kieran fucking about—figuratively, not literally, of course—Kieran had been desperate for Mason and Alice to officially get together so that he could stop feeling like such a tosser.
Walking backward toward his favorite couch, Kieran was carrying on a conversation about his rather homeless-looking attire, having a laugh with some of his other roommates. He didn’t even check to see if anyone else was on the couch, nor to see if there was anything behind him. He figured if any such thing were to exist, he would be made aware of it or they’d move out of his way, considering he was absolutely garbage when it came to being observant.
But no one alerted him to the fact that there was a book on the ground, and he slipped on it and, fortunately, landed largely on the couch. Except that the couch wasn’t generally supposed to be warm, last he checked. Jumping up and letting out a less-than-mansexual shout he turned around, feeling both terrified and afraid he’d just done injury to some innocent bystander. The incidence of magical things popping up right when he expected them least was really getting quite irritating, and put him on edge constantly. Unfortunately for him, the thing he’d landed on wasn’t even magical, so he didn’t have much of an excuse for being a totally self-absorbed, unaware twat.
”Aw, Christ, ah’m focking sorry,” he said hurriedly, realizing that he was still entirely soaking wet and had probably gotten her dirty. And he really did feel badly about it as well, though he wasn’t exactly sure how to make that clear without sounding both like a complete idiot and like a doucheface all in one. well do you know that this house is falling apart? What can i say, this house is falling apart…. We got no money but we’ve got heart, heart, heart,,

Raelin didn't know what she was dreaming about, but she was warm and extremely comfy until suddenly she felt a little pain, wet and cold. She jolted up slightly, opening her eyes but seeing everything as foggy looking. Furrowing her brow, she reached up and rubbed at her eyes, looking at a blurry figure standing before her. At the moment she was insanely confused and hardly aware of anything, she had been in a decently deep sleep until suddenly she'd woken up from something uncomfortable. While she didn't understand what had happened yet she was already a little grumpy from being forced awake, despite not meaning to fall asleep. It had felt so good but then was ripped away from her, and now the person in front of her was speaking.
After rubbing her eyes, she sat up completely, moving her legs to go over the front of the couch so she was sitting properly. With narrowed and sleepy eyes she looked up at a guy, frowning up at him. "What?" she mumbled, taking notice to his completely dirty and soaked attire. Clarity was slowly coming to her and she quickly looked down at her self, there were mud marks from her mid section down and she was actually a little sore. "You sat on me?" she asked, looking back up at him curiously, he really hadn't notice her sleeping here? Of course it was her fault for falling asleep in the common room, but now she was wet, muddy and apparently had been crushed by this guy.
While she was much more awake now, she was still a little sleepy and really didn't even want to get up to clean the mud. Plus, there was a decent amount on the couch also. "You were just going to sit on the couch like that? It's called a shower," she added with slight annoyance, hoping that he had at least been planning to clean the couch when he was done, some people could be so ignorant. Then again she shouldn't take out her bad day on him, he seemed like he had felt bad. Plus she didn't really care about the mud, it was mostly just the rude awakening she'd gotten.
Rae sighed, reaching her arms up to stretch a bit, before leaning forward and to stretch out her back a little. That was when she saw her book on the floor, the cover was full of mud and there might have been a few pages ripped. The book had already been extremely worn, she'd read it a thousand times. With a gasp she reached for it, bringing it to her lap and grabbing the bottom of her shirt. Finding a clean spot she began scrubbing at the cover with it, ignoring that her stomach showed a little. She could just make out the Alice for Alice in Wonderland, before she finally stopped wiping at it and took out her wand. Pointing it at the book she muttered scourgify, which at least took care of the mud.
Looking back up at the boy, he was someone she'd seen before but hadn't ever really spoken to, she pouted slightly. "I am having a horrible day."
