[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]nicole stood in front of the mirror, just staring at herself. she wasn't sure what to think, looking at herself. most of the other ravenclaws had headed off to the great hall for dinner, but nikki had stopped into the bathroom first. when a first year walked in, nicole gave her a wide smile and cleared her throat, heading out of the bathroom and towards the great hall. she pulled her hair over her shoulders, the curls that she had put into her hair that morning still sitting neatly how she had placed them that morning. wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a loose fitting plain gray t-shirt, nicole walked softly with her black flats barely making a sound on the stone floor. just as she suspected, almost everyone was already in the great hall. there were hardly any seats left, but nicole found one.
it wasn't by her normal few people that she sat by, but nikki didn't mind. she laughed at the jokes being tossed around, but didn't join in any conversation since none of it was directed at her. she simply filled her plate once and filled up her glass and enjoyed her meal. she felt a tad awkward not knowing anyone that she sat by, so she just kept quiet. normally she was all for joinging into random conversations, but tonight she wasn't. she had had her first quiz in one of her courses already, and she was freaking out internally that she failed it. nicole was generally like this before and after tests or quizzes. she panicked in her mind and acted as if she was completely fine on the outside. that tended to be how nikki was. she acted as if she was this upbeat, confident girl who had everything going for her but she felt like she was anything but. she didn't have any reason to feel less about herself, but she did. she was smart and kind, but she didn't quite see what other's saw. it was a curse, in her mind. tag: open! word count: 341 notes: awkwardness. |

[style=background-image: url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3q4onqLcU1qg9q0qo1_500.png); width: 400px; height: 230px;] should've told you what you meant to me cause now i pay the price [div style="width:[br"]400px; font-family:tahoma; text-transform: lowercase; font-size:10px; color:#000; text-align:justify; padding-left: 3px; padding-right: 7px; line-height:120%;]the little sixteen-year-old blonde french boy was locked up inside his dormitory, trying to finish the last remaining paragraphs from his history of magic essay that's due tomorrow. he's the type of person who wants to get his homework out of the way to have more time doing what he loves to do which is being inside the library and spend his time reading books. the boy spend almost five hours writing this four page essay about and he was starving for food. julian could hear his poor little stomach starting to growl which cause him to let out a small moan. so, he figured to get something to eat before he starves himself to death. after finishing the last remaining five words from his final sentence, he left all of his stuff where they were and walked out of the room. the boy was wearing a simple plain white shirt with navy blue jeans, nothing casual really. making his way over toward the great hall to grab something to eat. julian finally arrived to his destination; walking inside the great hall and notice almost everyone was already inside. letting out a small sigh while looking around the room when he notice there wasn't not a lot of seats for him to sit and enjoy his food. after grabbing his meal, julian looked around the room to see if there was a table for him to sit. sadly, there wasn't a lot of empty seats and if there was, he wouldn't go because he's not much of a people person. he sometimes wish he was like his twin brother; more outgoing and more friendly. but at the same time, he's tired of having people trying to compare him to his brother; always telling julian to be more like him. sometimes he wish people could stop telling him what to do and let him do his own thing, including his parents. looking around for a . then, he saw a familiar face sitting down and enjoying her food. so, he figured to keep her company rather than sitting next to some random stranger that he doesn't know. making his way over toward the girl's direction as he placed the tray on top of the table, sitting down across from the girl. hoping she doesn't mind him sitting on the same table as her. hey, nicole. julian said, giving his dear friend a little wide smile. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]the thing that nicole loved the most about the great hall was that all of the food was laid out in front of you at your table, and all you had to do was fill a plate as many times as you wanted to. usually people sat by house, but nicole had wound up at the very end of the ravenclaw table, which usually ended up being the destination of late enterers like herself, who would up without a place to sit. she'd seen people from other houses sit there many times, just due to the fact that they had come so late and that there was literally no other place to sit. the slytherin's usually just told late enterees to get lost, the gryffindors would let them join them, the hufflepuffs would take up more space for themselves, and the ravenclaws would all scrunch up a tiny bit closer just for that one extra person. usually, nicole made it down to dinner on time and would walk there with one of her friends, but she had drank a lot of water that day and regretted it instantly right before dinner was served. just like she would regret the fact that she refilled her plate later that night. she didn't have an eating disorder or anything, she would just start worrying that she was going to get unhealthy or fat, then do nothing about it. being forced out of her own thoughts, nicole lifted her gaze to see julian as he sat down across from her. she smiled brightly, attempting to let her confidence go back to shining. hi, julian! you show up late, too? she laughed lightly, popping a carrot into her mouth. maybe showing up so late hadn't been a bad thing. at least she got to sit by one of her friends in the end. in the great hall, nobody cared about anybody but their friends and themselves. they mostly just wanted to eat and catch up on what went on during the day. nicole never quite understood how friends in the same house could still come up with topics for discussion, they saw each other all the time. but then again, she supposed that's what a real friendship was. where you could see each other all day every day and still have a blast and a good conversation while you're at it, too. two of her closest friends were in different houses: julian was a hufflepuff, and duke was a gryffindor. nicole tended to not be all that close with her fellow ravenclaws. and she really didn't mind, honestly. tag: julian! word count: 433 notes: awkwardness. |

[style=background-image: url(http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3q4onqLcU1qg9q0qo1_500.png); width: 400px; height: 230px;] should've told you what you meant to me cause now i pay the price [div style="width:[br"]400px; font-family:tahoma; text-transform: lowercase; font-size:10px; color:#000; text-align:justify; padding-left: 3px; padding-right: 7px; line-height:120%;] Julian felt like he hasn’t eaten all day today. While trying to finish his homework, pretty much all the blonde boy ate was several chocolate frogs that he had hiding underneath his pillow. The boy sure did love his chocolate frogs. Even though, Julian had little food kit filled with candies hiding under his bed for an emergency, but yet the boy was still hungry. You can’t blame the boy for being in love with food. Heck, he could eat nothing but junk food and still managed to stay in shape. That’s something Julian really liked about himself which is that he never gets fat. He normally sits down with his house, but there wasn’t a available seat for him to sit. Sure, there was couple that he could squeeze himself into but didn’t want to sit next to people that he didn’t know or worth making a conversation. He’s no good at making new friends or trying to stir up a nice little conversation which is something he’s trying to work on. Luckily for him, he found one where his good friend was sitting and managed to have the courage to sit with her; along with people he never met before. Once he got himself settled in, he picked a little grape from his tray and threw it into his mouth when he heard Nicole saying something to him. “Yup.” The boy said with a shrug. “I just finished my charms essay that’s due tomorrow and decided to come down to see what they're serving for dinner. What about you? What’s your excuse of showing up late?” Julian asked, returning the question. He didn’t mind if she didn’t want to tell him why she shows up late because it’s none of his business but figured why not. It’s not a bad thing to ask the same question, at least in his mind it wasn’t. Besides, he cannot help but be little curious as to why she shows up late for dinner. “I’m actually surprised you knew it was me and not Ryder.” He teased, giving Nicole a little friendly smile. Mostly, people would sometimes confuse him with his twin brother which drives him crazy because they’re two complete different people. Ryder is the more outgoing type of guy while Julian is the more shy kind of guy and in two different houses. He thought people would know the difference by now, but apparently not. Luckily for him, he has couple of friends who could tell the difference unlike the rest of the people in the castle. [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 440px; padding-top:10px;]nicole tended to get her essays done the night that they were assigned, just because she knew if she put it off then it wouldn't be as good and she wouldn't have the option to edit it. she tended to go over her essays every day after she wrote them to edit little things, then rewrite them, until the night before they were due, in which case she would read it and usually be proud of the work. then, for the next few days as she waited for it to be graded, she would silently panic about how it probably wasn't good enough. usually she got high marks, though, so she really wasn't sure why she always panicked. quite a few times she had had someone tell her that they didn't understand how she managed to get such high marks, and it took everything in her mind to keep her from going "i have absolutely no idea. probably because i'm a perfectionist and feel as if nothing is ever good enough because i'm terrified of disappointing people." however, that wasn't how nikki was, so she had just shrugged and thanked the girl before waking away. laughing a bit at julian's reason for being late, then shrugging a bit. the line for the girls' room was so ridiculous, and then i had to wait to get to an available sink.. i swear, some of the slytherin girls think that they need to put on a whole new layer of makeup before anything they do. she quickly peaked over her shoulder to make sure none of the slytherin girls had heard her. luckily it was loud enough that she was off the hook, though. looking back over to julian she laughed a bit at her own embarrassment. she quickly followed it with an eye roll, though. i can't imagine ryder would ever sit at the ravenclaw table, even if he was the last one to walk into the great hall. though it was blunt, nicole was pretty sure it was true. she didn't know ryder all that well, minus the fact that she knew he and julian were practically polar opposites personality wise. tag: open! word count: 361 notes: awkwardness. |
