with a little help from my friends lou diamond had never been a quiet girl. all her life, she'd yelled, screamed, laughed obnoxiously loud, and sang songs at the top of her lungs. her parents claimed she had issues with volume, but most understood that lou was simply a loud person. though sometimes, other students wondered if the girl really was deaf. the answer, of course, was no. lou was loud because she liked being heard, and she liked being heard because she was naturally small and could be easily overlooked. the only problem with being heard, however, was that the girl had never completely grasped the idea of being silent in the library. to lou, it was just another room, but instead of bare walls, there were thousands of books and comfortable chairs.
humming to one of the many beatles songs the girl new by heart, lou tapped her pen to the beat against the old mahogany desk she was currently sitting at. her charms book lay open in front of her, though she wasn't entirely focused on the words. she'd been studying all day, and the girl was beginning to get bored. besides, it wasn't as if she really needed to look over the chapter again. for lou, charms was almost as easy as breathing. looking up from the page, she peeked across the table to see if she recognized anyone around her. at this hour, there was bound to be someone who would accompany her on a crazy adventure. spotting a figure through the stacks of books, lou couldn't help but smile. "pst," she called, hoping that it wasn't a prefect, or worse, the librarian.

i will make this pretty soon -----------------------------
The library wasn’t the total favorite place that Caleb Haynes liked. There was the common room, the kitchens –which he wasn’t really allowed too, the village, and pretty much those main places. So, the boy was in the library because of homework, that the DADA teacher gave him, which was stupid because it’s an essay. Who gives out essays in DADA? Anywho, the best way Caleb could actually finish this was going to the library and read upon the subject. It was annoying, but it had to be done, plus he rather gets a good grade and possibly starts the next week’s homework. Sighing, Caleb flipped the page of his book, writing down what he needed too. At this point, Caleb rather bull shit the essay and he would manage to get a good grade on it. All he was doing was flipping the pages until he found something. Though he was one of those guys to have a good time, he was reserved and well done with being himself, being secretive. He was sort of like an onion, but only he was cooler and didn’t make people cry. Caleb hesitated now, finishing that essay and closing the book, heading to the new book for a new subject, Charms. He hated that class with a passion only because of the teacher and the students at times. He just had to write out some answers, which was easy enough for him. Thank god for being so quiet library and just being there, though it wasn’t his favorite place in the whole wide world. At least he probably knew some people in here, but for all he knew, they were just names and faces and not friends so much. But that’s how Hogwarts was, seeing faces and names was the only fun.
That’s when he heard the little ‘pst’. His eyes ventured up to the person. He knew her, Lou Diamond, or as he called her, Louise or American girl or something along those lines. Caleb moved the books to actually see the girl this time. What Louise? Caleb said, giving a small smirk. He knew she was keeping this quiet because of the fear of the librarian or the prefect, but he didn’t care. He was leaving soon, so he can proudly say screw them. He wasn’t making fun of her, it was just something he called her. They were an awkward friendship because they were so different. But nonetheless, they were still friends in the long run. Caleb just gave her a look, wondering what she was thinking this time around.

with a little help from my friends what louise? it wasn't everyday that someone called her louise, so with a mischievous grin, the girl winked toward the bookcase, lips stretching to her ears as she smiled. "hey there, johnny english. are you on a secret mission to acquire more knowledge?" snapping her charms textbook closed, lou leaned across the table, eyes squinting to catch sight of the boy through the shelves.
as she waited for a response, the girl fiddled with the end of her wand, gears winding in her head. around caleb, some of lou's craziest ideas came to life. there was something about the boy that set her off, something that made her go wild with the need to seek out adventure. she wasn't quite sure what it was, but a part of her wondered if it was because he was so secretive. not that his reservations were a problem, but lou was always on a secret mission to figure him out, to decipher the mysteries beneath the surface.
snapping out of her little reverie, lou jumped up from her chair, grabbed her text and skipped over the where caleb stood. "forget about the knowledge, you wanky wanker." she laughed, quite aware she'd given him no time to respond to her first question. "come on an adventure with me! please, caleb-cucumber, please." she smiled, hopping from foot to foot as she pleaded with him, eyes slowly getting bigger and entering the dangerous puppy-dog phase.

Caleb had rolled his eyes. Some of the nicknames they gave each other were weird. But, nonetheless they meant well. He now gave her a weird look, what was with this nickname, caleb-cucumber. He was highly confused, but he shook his head. She had come walking this way just to see if he would go on an adventure with her. Not that he was against it, but it was some weird adventures. He was so reserved and secretive, and she was just so upbeat that he never understood her at all. Caleb gave a little laugh, making sure to keep quiet about all of this. No, Star Spangled Ninnies, needed to get some homework done.
Caleb said, answering her first question before even answering the second one she had asked. At least he could say he got most of it done, and he was at least proud of himself for it, especially being in the library of all places, and with crazy Lou too. He looked down, seeing his homework in his hands. He just stuffed them in his book and looked back at her. He was really debating on asking her, because he would usually go with her, but this one was making him curious. Not that he was curious, because he always was. Some were good ideas and some were bad, but in the long run, he had fun. They were just too weird, and plus being in the same year was more interesting with their relationship, but hey, no hating on it at all. Caleb shook his head to get out of his thoughts. I need to pass my N.E.W.T.s this year ninny. Where do you want to head off too, without getting in trouble by a prefect? Caleb asked, looking at her with an questioning look. He looked past her a bit, seeing if anyone was coming their way or near them. Caleb looked back down at the girl who was a tad shorter than him. What is the lovely adventure you want to seek out Ninny? Caleb asked again, a new look on his face. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

with a little help from my friends in all honesty, her friendship with caleb had been a bit of a surprise. it wasn't that she was judgemental or anything, but lou was one of the friendliest people on the planet, and reserved people weren't really her style. why? well, she loved having fun, she didn't care about being cool, and she hardly let anything get to her. with caleb, though, it was different. he interested her, and with a little convincing, he agreed to go on most of her adventures. there were times lou believe he was a wild child just waiting to burst out of his skin, but he never did, and she was determined to show him that being open was fun.
jumping up and down in her spot, lou lifted a hand and pinched his cheek with a smile. "you're so cute when you're worried about being caught," she grinned, grabbing his books from his arms. "but for now, ya british bonehead, we're going to make s'mores. it's time to take a break from those n.e.w.t's." skipping off toward the exit of the library, lou turned back and wiggled a finger coaxingly. "we're going to go on an all-american camping trip in the room of requirement. tent included." wiggling her hips like a bad shakira impersonator, lou waited for him to catch up, eyes glued to his face to catch any hint of embarrassment he might have. "pip, pip, chap!" she yelled, "we don't have all day to dilly dally!"

Caleb looked at the girl with a stupid look on his face, then a little chuckle. How he could understand that girl, he had no idea, but somehow he actually could handle her. It was weird in a sense that they have been so odd that it always was well, weird like said before. She was this whole outburst of joy and he was a reserved laidback guy. Nonetheless, he managed to at least go on a whim and just hang out with the girl. He truly never cared what people said, because it wasn’t his life so much like it was to his. He just did whatever he felt like and didn’t matter. The girl pinched his cheeks then, and he moved his face back. Cause I prefer not to get a detention, that’s why.
Caleb said, letting her now just take his book. Its not like he didn’t care for it so much, he just had to use it for studying and that junk. Should I even trust you with fire Ameridork? I don’t wanna end up in the infirmary for burns on my skin. Caleb spoke, watching her leave and do horrible impersonations of people, and all he did was laugh. Shaking his head, the boy decided to follow her. His camping idea was more of a sitting in the woods and just travelling. American was sitting out there and doing nothing but eat and sleep and cook. That didn’t sound too fun, but he would manage to do it somehow. Okay dork face, lets get a move on.. So that I can be prepared to head down to the infirmary for when I get burned. Caleb said, keeping a look on his face as he left the library and went into the hall with the girl. with a little help from my friends rolling her bright blue eyes, lou stuck her tongue out at the boy as she swerved in and out of the isles, making her way toward the exit like an expert spy. "i can't believe you have so little faith in me, you dink. nothing's gonna go wrong... well, as long as you follow instructions." with a shrug, she pushed the heavy wooden doors and stepped into the hall, eyes flitting back and forth to make sure there weren't any prefects about. if there was one thing lou had learnt about being at hogwarts, it was to keep her eye out for the knarks, especially peeves. the little bastard ghost had it out for her, and she had no clue why.
turning to face her companion, lou punched the boy playfully in the arm. "will you shut up about the infirmary? you sound like a huge wanker. a huge wanking baby, actually. be optimistic for once, gosh." with an over-dramatic sigh, she headed off down the empty hall, her free hand along the stone walls, hair bobbing up and down as she jumped over the cracks in the floor that got in her way. "so, cale..." she started, peeking over her shoulder to make sure he was following her. "did your family ever take you camping as a kid?" every once in a while, the girl liked to question caleb about his life. nothing too intrusive, but nothing too careful. every new piece of information she got out of him was like finding another chocolate egg during an easter egg hunt - thrilling and surprising.
