Drop everything now, meet me in the pouring rain Kiss me on the sidewalk, take away the pain
Alice had awoken to her cat Dinah laying on her chest purring. The young witch never had to worry about waking up late because Dinah always seemed to know when she was supposed to be up. She yawned and reached a hand up to scratch the cat under the chin making her purr even louder. Alice smiled and sat up stretching her arms above her head. She stepped out of her bed as Dinah jumped down following her with a slight meow. The blonde girl her then jumped in the shower. She was going to have a long day today. She was working a double covering someone else's shift because she was nice. Alice was nice to everyone. Once she was clean and ready for the day she pulled her hair up in a ponytail and put her uniform on and apparated to the hospital. Walking in she waved hello to the security guard as well as the woman at the front desk as she made her way back to the healers station. She picked up her charts and started on her way. She had her regulars which had been here for awhile but she was also on walk-in duty that day. If they had anyone just walk in off the street today then she was the head healer that would take care of them. It was hours later when she finally got to sit down and take a breathe. There had been a lot of walk ins today and she was tired. She brushed a few stray pieces of hair behind her ear as she sipped at her drink and took a small bite of her sandwich. She stifled a yawn as she tried to finish her sandwich. She was sitting at the front desk just in case another walk in came in needing her attention. It was quiet for the first time all night and she was enjoying it. Cause I see sparks fly whenever you smile. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

you're the one that i should never take, but i can't sleep until i devour you - - - - - Perhaps it hadn’t been the smartest idea to run into the middle of the pen with the dragon that the keepers were trying to get control of. At least that was what he was thinking now. But he hadn’t seen any of them jumping at the idea of running in there with the thing. And he had managed to get the job done so he felt pretty smug about that whole ordeal. But he had paid for it with a nice rough swat from the tail and more burn damage than he wanted to admit to at first. It had hurt like hell and it did still hurt but already he was healing at an alarming rate. Not that it mattered any to his boss. He was on detail at one of the holding places for dragons at the moment giving information and helping the handlers. And his boss was from hell. Demanding that a vampire go to a healer? It was ridiculous but here he was anyway.
Christian winced slightly as he lifted his left arm and pulled open the door to the hospital. He let his blue eyes quickly trace over the place and he sighed. Looked like it was nothing but women in here today and many of them looked like he could easily break them in half. All he wanted was some blood, someone to do a quick once over to okay him, and then for him to get out of here for the night. He just wanted to go home and sleep at this point because while the pain was getting better, only blood and sleep were going to make it perfect again. He looked down at himself momentarily and shook his head. He was still splattered in blood and his clothes were terribly singed. He was sure he looked like every healer’s worst nightmare at this time.
He stepped up to the main desk and managed to smile, though it was small and a bit pained looking. “Hi there. I uh…had a bit of a brush with a very nasty Hungarian Horntail. I was wonderful if I could just get….looked over you know. To appease my boss.” He shook his head, still thinking it was the most ridiculous thing ever.

Alice had almost finished her sandwich she had been eating. it felt good to have something in her stomach finally. When she was working she had a tendency to forget to eat anything. Her boss was always bringing in food for her and making her sit down and eat before she passed out. But that was how she was at work. She was determined to heal the ones she could and she forgot about everything else. Some people would even go as far to say that she tried to save everyone even if they were terminal. She was taking a sip of passion fruit juice, one of her favorite drinks, when she heard a voice in front of her. She looked up and her jaw fell open. The man standing in front of her was spattered with blood, his clothes were singed and he held a scent of burning flesh. But what she noticed first was his eyes. They were pale and almost intoxicating. It made her heart quicken and her breathe catch in her chest. She quickly shook her head and went into healer mode.
"Oh my! Please...c-come with me. We need to get those burns looked at right away."
She stood up from the desk knocking some papers over in her awkwardness to get up. She sighed and quickly picked them up placing them back on the desk. She smoothed her white scrubs she was wearing out as she led him back to a room where she could easily take care of the burns he had. They looked bad how he had made it here by himself was a wonder to him. He would be lucky if he didn't need a skin replenishing potion to heal them up better. Once they entered the room she quickly went to a cabinet and pulled out some alcohol and swabs of gauze to clean them.
"Please...sit and r-remove your...shirt, please. I need to c-clean the wounds before I can heal them."
She grabbed a clipboard and started to fill out somethings on her own while she let him take his shirt off. She glanced up from the clipboard and quickly back down again. Despite the burns and blood she could tell that he was handsome. She had never met a man as handsome as him and it made her nervous. She was always nervous around men but more so now with him. She just didn't know how to act with them. She never had.

you're the one that i should never take, but i can't sleep until i devour you - - - - - Christian was incredibly annoyed that he was here but that didn’t stop him from drinking in her appearance. And the way that she stuttered over her words as she led him into another room. He followed obediently, knowing that it was better to not cause a fuss, especially if there was a chance that his boss for the time being heard about it. It was hard enough to get a job being a vampire as it was…he didn’t want to have to track another one down and he wasn’t quite ready to start working on another book. So for the time being, being nice and following orders was his best bet.
“They’re really not all that bad…” He said, settling himself on the table in the room, frowning slightly at the disposable paper as it crinkled underneath his weight. He hated hospitals for this reason. So much focus on being sterile and making everyone follow the rules. Rules weren’t always his favorite thing and being treated like he was carrying a plague that could end the world if he wasn’t cleaned up after had never made him all that comfortable.
Christian nodded his head and removed his already falling apart shirt. He set it gingerly beside him on the table and ran his hand across his chest, smearing some of the black stains that were there. He was starting to think that maybe the ash would be a problem with her examination, which meant it was only going to take longer. “You really…don’t need to do all of that.” He motioned to her writing and the things she had pulled from the cabinet. He wasn’t going to need any of it. Just a couple bags of blood and possibly a slip with a scribble on it that he could throw at his boss tomorrow.
“I’m fine. Just a bit…bruised.” His tone was light as he said it and a smile instantly graced his features as he looked at the petite blonde, listening to her heart beat steady. Amazing how distracting something so simple could be. He pushed his tongue out across his lips and let out a soft sigh. Chris planted his hands on the edge of the table and shrugged his shoulders up. “Clean away though you won’t find much more than slightly raw pink marks at this point I imagine…”

Alice glanced up above her clipboard to watch him as he took his shirt off. She quickly looked back down again at her neat hand writing. She had gotten most of it filled out but she still needed more....like his name. She shook her head slightly as he said that he was only bruised. The smell of burning flesh hung around him like a strong perfume. He was not more than just bruised she just had to clen the shes wy from his body to see how bad it really was. She brushed a piece of blond hair behind her ear and put her clipboard down next to him as she reached for the alcohol and gauze.
"What's your name? I'm Alice."
She grabbed a piece of gauze and poured some alcohol on it to dampen it so she could clean. Now that she was in her element she could relax more. She still kept glancing at him but she couldn't help it. He was gorgeous and she had never been this close to a handsome man before. But now that she had her hands on some gauze and was actually doing something production she was more confident and she figured that it showed. She wasn't stuttering over her words anymore. Her hand wiped over his chest with the gauze and the ash startedd to wipe away neatly. She couldn't help but admire the muscle on his broad chest and his abs. She quickly swallowed the lump in her throat and continued on. To her surprise he was correct. There were only soft pin k marks where the burn had been only moment before when he had walked in. She looked up at him with wide eyes for a second.
"I...I don't understand. H-how?"
She had never run into this sort of thing in her career. Yes, she was only nineteen but she had seen a lot of things over the past two years and she was bound to see ore. Her naive little mind couldn't wrap around the fact or the possibility that he was a vampire so she didn't even think of it yet. She looked at him quizzically. If he knew that he was going to heal then why did he even bother coming in?

you're the one that i should never take, but i can't sleep until i devour you - - - - - Christian watched as she continued to fill out the form despite what he had said. Humans. They never seemed to understand when they needed to listen to something. He supposed it was because they were always so wrapped up in their own heads that it didn’t occur to them to actually take heed sometimes. Chris let himself relax on the table. He leaned back on his palms and stared up at the ceiling momentarily before she asked for his name and gave him hers. Was that how things worked in hospitals these days?
“Christian Sharp if you’re going to write it down. Just Chris if you’re not. Nice to meet you I suppose, Alice.” He watched her pick up the gauze and move toward him. She was adorable in the way that a scared little rabbit was adorable around a predator. The nerves were obvious until she started cleaning his chest, him having shifted so she could easily reach his skin. While her eyes were on his skin and the job at hand, his eyes were tracing over her face. Actually she was quite attractive and he was only now just taking notice of it. Probably because he had been distracted by how nervous she was earlier. She was must more attractive with this confidence behind her actions though.
And then the stutter was back in place. He shrugged his shoulders up though he kept his eyes on her. “Told you…you were just wasting your time.” He smiled at her, his lips tilting up more than they had since he’d come in. “Amazing healing abilities.” He tilted his head at her slightly and chuckled. “You weren’t even paying attention to how cool my skin is, were you?’ He was amazed at how much people could miss. “Dragons are…just fun play things for something like me. Unless they take a bite. That’s something to be avoided at all costs.” He picked his shirt up and let his hands run easily across the singed fabric. “Vampire blood gives incredible strength…but even it has its limits.” Christian let his voice drop slightly as he said it. He had no idea what reaction to expect from her because he’d see it all in his years, from fainting to fangirl screams over meeting an actual vampire.

Alice took a deep breathe as she heard him say he was a Vampire. Her heart quickened at the realization of it all. She had never met a vampire before. Actually she had never met a being of the supernatural before. She tried to keep a straight face. it was still her job to help him if he needed it. Even vampires needed help sometimes...didn't they? She continued to look at him. She hadn't moved from where she had been kneeling as she cleaned his chest. Yes, she had felt how cold his skin was but she had thought that it was from shock from his injuries. That happened to people a lot. She would have never have guessed that he was a vampire.
"Oh.....I..um...do y-you need any b-blood?"
She was so nervous right now. Not only was he beautiful but he was a vampire as well. No wonder he was so good looking. She started to wonder how old he was then her mind drifted to his fangs. After her mother had died her father had kept her so sheltered from the world she never really got to experience any of it. Nineteen years old and she had never once been kissed or had someone hold her hand. She had never had anyone flirt with her and she had never experienced any magical creatures and now here was one sitting on the table in front of her. She walked over to the cabinets and started to put the gauze and alcohol away. She looked down at the clipboard. Did she really have to finish this now? She glanced behind her shoulder and tried to smile at him.
"I'm sorry. I've never met a..um...vampire before."
