DEAREST,
ANYONE, He had spent most of the last few weeks getting his classes ready and getting moved into the castle. It was his first year back to the school and he was absolutely thrilled to be teaching here. Sure, it wasn't necessarily the job he really wanted but at least he could be back on campus.
He'd already had a few classes but they, unfortunately, had been the semi-boring ones where he was forced to go over the general syllabus as well as disclose all the rules about 'fairness' on who got what chair. He knew they weren't going to be excited about the course yet but he hoped that in the near future, they would be.
But now that he had some down time, he knew exactly where he wanted to spend it!
He hadn't had a chance yet to check up on his old school friend and he hoped the great 'monster' was still doing well. He rarely got love from anyone else and Zedrig knew that sometimes, he could get lonely.
He casually strode from the massive double doors of the castle, his bare feet padding over the soft grass as he headed in the direction of the Blake Lake. He wasn't sure if it was still a popular place for students to hang out, but he really didn't care if there were any down there. He hadn't had a chance to go swimming lately and he seriously needed to feel the water on his skin.
He arrived at the lake side and closed his eyes, happily inhalign the musky lake-water scent as memories of his final year wafted over him. Although shifting into Animagus form didn't affect his clothing, he started to unclip the red cape that flowed behind him and tossed it to the ground. With a deep breath, he concentrated on his physical stature and a moment later, he opened his eyes.
The fact that he was nearly blind was proof enough that he had successfully transformed. Also an indicator was the soft grass brushing against his now-bare stomach and the new point of view of someone who was no taller then a foot. His wide mouth broke into a happy smile as he started waddling toward the water side.
SINCERELY,
PROFESSOR ZEDRIG ALAXANDER BLUNT

shuffling around her small cabin, emmy searched through the boxes of unpacked belongings for her favourite pair of wellies. after a long day hacking away at weeds, the girl was dead-set on relaxing by the water with a good book and a cup of steaming hot tea. after another few minutes, she finally located her bright-yellow pair of rubber boots and slipped them onto her long, lanky legs. "perfect," she smiled, reaching for her book and mug before pausing in front of the mirror on her way out. to a lot of people, emmy's appearance was peculiar. what with all her piercings, odd hair choices, and tattoos, she looked more like something out of a wizard metal band than a grounds keeper, but she really didn't mind. to her, she looked normal, and that was all that mattered.
with a heavy push, the front door to her cabin swung open to reveal the black lake, along with a tall-looking man mid-transformation. animagus' weren't uncommon around hogwarts, but it had been a while since emmy had seen one in the flesh. "hey!" she called, taking the steps that two at a time. with a thud, she landed expertly on the grass, a minimal amount of tea splashing over the edges of her mug. unfortunately, she was two seconds too late, and with a shrug and a sigh, she padded up to the water's edge, watching the lizard-like creature with interest. "nice eyes," she muttered, taking a sip of her tea before she settled down on the lawn beside it, legs sprawled out toward the water. (c) jazzy jess.

DEAREST,
EMERSON ELLIS, He hadn't heard her call until it was too late. He found it dangerous to stop mid-transformation so he didn't dare attempt it and instead, waited until he was fully salamandered before turning. He blinked, her comment not quite ringing through. Nice eyes? What did that mean? He had terrible eyes! He cocked his head in the general direction of her voice, although he couldn't really see her. Well, he could see her general shape and the fact that she had bright hair but beyond that he had no clue who she was.
He didn't recognize the voice, although it seemed to come from someone older then a student so it had to be staff (or someone on the grounds who wasn't supposed to be there). He took a few steps toward the dark blob but it really didn't help. If he wanted to know who this person was, he'd have to shift back. He really didn't want to... he wanted to be in the water and he wanted to stay in this form that he was most comfortable in but he also knew that if he stayed this way and stayed dry for too long, there was a possibility he would shrivel up. And that would just be embarrassing. He glanced over his shoulder (and in order to do that, his flat head had to move his entire body) to glance longingly back at the water.
But he couldn't just ignore someone who wanted to talk to him and she obviously didn't want to throw his rarity in a zoo which was already a plus. With an unrecognizable sigh, he close his beady eyes and inhaled sharply as he started to shift back into his human form.
He was back on his feet by the time it had finished and his hand automatically lifted to his head as he closed his eyes again. "Woa... that always gives me a head rush." Even magically, it was hard going from something one foot tall to something nearly six.
SINCERELY,
PROFESSOR ZEDRIG ALAXANDER BLUNT

"i'm sorry," she replied, "i didn't mean to interrupt your afternoon swim." rustling through her pockets, she pulled out a pack of bertie bott's every flavoured beans and offered them to the man.
her cup was balancing precariously on her bony knee as she waited for him to take a handful, her apologetic smile turning into one of warmth. "but since you're here... it's nice to finally meet someone," with a laugh, emmy leaned forward and took a sip from her mug, shoulders relaxing happily has the warmth spread through her body. "i'm emerson, by the way, but you can call me emmy." the end of her sentence was met with a blinding smile, once that had the corners of her eyes crinkling at the corners. since being at the school, the girl had become a bit of a recluse. she didn't talk to many of the other staff members, nor did she acknowledge a lot of the students. it wasn't because she was anti-social, but she was rather shy. more-so than usual, maybe. today, however, she felt a surge of confidence. she wanted to meet people, she wanted to make friends. "are you a professor here?" she asked, reaching for a few of the candy beans herself. (c) jazzy jess.
